John Hart, PhD, LPC
John is a Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor who is also employed by Menninger as their Cognitive Behavior Specialist.  He was with the Menninger OCD Treatment Program at its inception and presents regionally and nationally on the nature and treatment of obsessive-compulsive related disorders.  He has a wide research interest and has published on evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders.



Patty Smith-Hart, MSN, APRN-BC, PMHNP
Patty is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is licensed to diagnose and treat psychiatric and mental illness.  After completing an extensive practicum on the Menninger OCD Treatment Program, she gained experience in treating clients with obsessive-compulsive disorder as well as those with anxiety disorders, depression, grief, and borderline personality disorder.  She is active in research studies related to evidence-based practice of anxiety disorders.
Free OCD Support Group
Co-sponsored by Dr. John Hart and Patty Smith-Hart, who donate their time to help people who suffer with OCD as well as the support people in their lives.
Held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings of each month, from 7pm to approximately 9 pm.  Because of the importance of giving each member an opportunity to share and get feedback from the group, sometimes this group lasts until 9:30 or 10 pm.  It is encouraged that members stay for the entire group to give other members their attention and respect as well as important feedback that you might have for them.
During group on the 4th Wednesday of each month, a breakout group will be available for the support people in the lives of those who suffer with OCD.
The OCD support group is held in the offices of the Baylor College of Social Work in the South Main Baptist Church, Welcome Center, 3rd floor, 4100 Main.

 

Free Hoarders Support Group
Sponsored by Behavior Therapy of Houston and facilitated by Jelani Daniel, LPC, who donate their time to help people who suffer with hoarding as well as the support people in their lives.
